This page will walk the user through how to write and send, print or save a prescription in NEMO Rx.

Prescribing a General Medication
Prescribing a medication in NEMO Rx is performed from the patient chart on the Prescribe tab. Here the provider or user can search for a medication, establish the prescription information, choose a pharmacy and send or save the prescription.

Eligibility
The eligibility section will update the relevant information according to the prescription selected.

Search Drug
Step one of the prescription writing process is to select a medication. There are two methods of selecting a medication in NEMO Rx.

Search Drugs
The search drugs method allows the user to search for a medication using common terms.

Favorites
The favorites button brings up a pop-up list of favorite medications and their SIG information. While in the favorite medication module you can select any provider favorites or the practices favorites.

- Favorite medications can be selected by clicking the desired medication. Once clicked the medication along with the SIG information will be automatically populated on the SIG screen.
- Favorite medications can also be modified by clicking the pencil icon on the right.

Alternative Medications
The alternative medications screen will appear when it is applicable, if there are no alternative medications available for the patient the user will be taken directly to the SIG page. The alternative medications screen will display a list of medications which can be prescribed as alternatives to the selected medication.
- To change to an alternative medication, click the desired medication and the user will be taken to the SIG screen.
- To continue with the original medication, click Next to proceed to the SIG screen.

SIG
The SIG screen allows the user to enter in the prescription information.

- User Favorites - This button adds the prescription details to the user favorites list
- Practice Favorites - This button adds the prescription details to the practice favorites list
- Interactions - This button only appears when there is an interaction, when clicked it displays the interactions this patient has. These can be Drug to Drug or Drug to Allergy interactions.
- Note if interactions are present the interactions screen will automatically appear when clicking Next on the SIG screen.
- Search Packages - NEMORx will check for drug packaging and return unique results for the user to select (ordered by type then dispense amount). When selecting a package we will automatically update the Dispense field (we will not update any other fields). Please note it is recommended that the provider writes "Dispensed As Supplied" in the Pharmacy notes as this will allow the Pharmacy to dispense the medication based on availability (Example: Tube vs Jar).

- Dispense - The quantity to be dispensed
- Units - The units to be used for the dispensed quantity
- Days Supply - The number of days the prescription is expected to cover
- SIG - The SIG or instructions for taking the medication
- Refills - The number of refills for the medication
- Earliest Fill date - the earliest date which a refill can be completed
- Substitution Allowed - Check box to determine if a substitution can be made for this medication
- Pharmacy Note - Notes which will be sent to the pharmacy
- Comments - Comments to be saved for this prescription
- Primary ICD10 Code - Patients Primary ICD10 code
- Primary ICD10 Description - Description for the primary ICD10 code
- Secondary ICD10 Code - Patients Secondary ICD10 Code
- Secondary ICD10 Description - Description for the secondary ICD10 code
- When selecting your ICD-10 codes NEMORx will pull codes from the patients chart.

Select Pharmacy
The select pharmacy screen allows you to select the pharmacy to send the prescription to.

The pharmacies screen will default to the patients' pharmacies if any have been set. If no patient pharmacies have been set the pharmacies screen will default to the pharmacy search screen. Using the Filter option found on the right the user can view pharmacies according to the below filters.
- Practice Favorites - Pharmacies set as a practice favorite
- Mail Order - Pharmacies which are identified as Mail Order pharmacies
- User Favorites - Pharmacies set as a user favorite
- Patient Favorites - Pharmacies set as a patient favorite
- Most Used Pharmacies - The pharmacies used most by the practice
- Search - This displays the pharmacy search tool
After searching for a pharmacy there are several options available for the pharmacy. To access these options, click the three dots on the left of the pharmacy row. This will bring up the list of available actions for the user.
- Add as practice favorite - Adds the pharmacy to the practice favorite list
- Add as user favorite - Adds the pharmacy to the user favorite list
- Add pharmacy to patient - Adds the pharmacy to the patients' pharmacies
When you click the pharmacy if available a pharmacy benefits window will appear. This window will provide different options and coverage's for the medication selected.

On the Pharmacy Benefits screen you can select the pharmacy which is appropriate for the patient from the list by clicking select pharmacy. Note that if the Pharmacy Benefits screen shows an alternative medication selecting that pharmacy will also select that alternative medication. Alternatively, the user can click Accept to continue with their current pharmacy selection.
If the patient is uninsured NEMORx will request a coupon code from Surescripts. If a coupon is available NEMORx, will present the user with a URL. Once the user opens the URL they need to print a copy for the patient to take to the pharmacy.

Review & Finish
The review & finish screen is the final step of the prescription process. Here the user can verify the prescription, patient, pharmacy and prescriber information prior to sending or printing the prescription.

- Save - Saves the prescription to be sent at a later time
- Prior Authorization - Takes the user to the Prior Authorization screen
- Send - Sends the prescription to the selected pharmacy
- Print - Prints the prescription
Prescribing a Narcotic Medication

Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) MIPS PI Bonus Measures
After selecting a Narcotic the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) MIPS PI Bonus Measures pop up will appear.
- PDMP Site - Click the link to be taken the practices PDMP site. For instructions on how to add a PDMP site click Here
- I verified the patients PDMP score today - This check box identifies that the PDMP site was checked for the patient prior to prescribing a narcotic medication.
- I have signed opioid agreement with my patient located in my EHR - This check box Identifies that the provider has a signed opioid agreement for the patient and that this agreement has been added to the EHR.

Alternative Medications
The alternative medications screen will appear when it is applicable, if there are no alternative medications available for the patient the user will be taken directly to the SIG page. The alternative medications screen will display a list of medications which can be prescribed as alternatives to the selected medication.

Select Pharmacy
The select pharmacy screen allows you to select the pharmacy to send the prescription to.

The pharmacies screen will default to the patients' pharmacies if any have been set. If no patient pharmacies have been set the pharmacies screen will default to the pharmacy search screen. Using the Filter option found on the right the user can view pharmacies according to the below filters.

- Continue - Starts the sign process for the prescription
- Prior Authorization - Takes the user to the Prior Authorization screen
- Print - Prints the prescription
Sign and Send
Once the user clicks the continue button the Ready to Sign pop up will appear. This pop up will display the prescription information and allow the user to sign and send the prescription.
- Prescription Details
- Authentication
- Hardware Token - Uses the registered hardware token to sign the prescription. When selected the user will enter their NEMO Rx PIN and the OTP code displayed on the hardware token.
- Soft-Token Manual - Uses the registered soft-token to sign the prescription. When selected the user will enter their NEMO Rx PIN and the OTP code displayed on the soft-token device.
- Please note: The device sending the prescription cannot be the device used as the Soft-Token. For example if sending the prescription from a mobile device that mobile device cannot be used to obtain the OTP code.
- Soft-Token Push Notification - Uses the registered soft-token to sign the prescription. When selected the user will enter their NEMO Rx PIN, once entered a push notification will be sent to the soft-token device for approval.
- Please note: The device sending the prescription cannot be the device used as the Soft-Token. For example if sending the prescription from a mobile device that mobile device cannot be used to receive the Push notification.
